Led by Alexey Pickerell—a seasoned black belt with over 35 years of experience—our academy is proudly affiliated with the De La Riva team, one of the most renowned Brazilian Jiu Jitsu organizations in the world. Alexey began his Jiu Jitsu journey in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, before returning to his city of origin, Belém, to open his first Brazilian Jiu Jitsu academy. In 2007, he brought his passion and expertise to the United States, where he has been teaching, mentoring, and shaping students ever since. His teaching philosophy is firmly rooted in the traditional values of discipline, respect, and perseverance, while seamlessly integrating modern techniques and evolving training methods to meet the demands of today’s practitioners.
